    Initially in 1998, Quinn et al in Nature reported that there a correlation between light exposure at night time (night light or room light) with myopia (near sightedness) later in childhood. Unfortunately this correlation has not been repeated consistently. Saw et al(Archives of Ophthalmology 2000), Zadnik et al(Nature 2000), Guggenheim et al(British Journal of Ophthalmology 2003), found no correlation large scale retrospective studies.

    Also, it's important to remember correlation does not mean causality.
